Simple way to see correct burn down chart
Added by Bernd Dreier almost 8 years ago
Hello,
first of all: Great Plugin. We use it at our university for student projects. However, I didn't manage to find an easy way to track down working time to tasks and see correct burndown charts. They only work, if you fill the hours per team member for the next sprint.
My expectation would be just to put hourly estimations (yes, also with scrum, finally you will need that ;-)) to the subtasks of a user story. And then the team members should book their spent hours to that tasks and I want to see the burndown, but I can't.
Did I miss something?
Thanks for any directions,
Bernd

Current burndown implementation by hours implies to fill estimated effort.
But you could also use burndown by story points (available in latest release) if you don't want to be hourly restricted.
Hope it helps.

Hello Emilio,
thanks for the great plugin! I have a smiliar Problem: Using Version 0.16.2. I get the burndown chart by time to run, but the burndown chart by story points is just a flat line (no matter how many tasks i finished) with the number given in the "mother" task. Shouldn't it burn down, if I finish a task like the time dependent burndown chart? If I enter values in the "estimated time" field and similar in the (user defined) Story Points field, time works, Story Points not.
Is it right, that the "mother" Task number of Story Points is not calculated as the sum of it's "childs" but you have to do it by Hand (no Problem with that! just a side question)?
best regrads
Björn

Hello guys!
I have same question that Björn Sander, the burn down by story points is just a flat line. Using lasted version.
Any tips?
Tnks!

Closed PBI burns story points. Status 'Resolved' is not enough.

As Piotr suggested, check if you are closing the PBIs, check if the status that you called Resolved is configured as being considered closed in Redmine settings.
